This requires a minimum balance of Ugx 100,000. Falling below this balance for one-month period suspends your insurance coverage.

8. Can I name a beneficiary in case I die?
Yes., your benefits under accidental Death will be paid to your next of Kin upon presentation of a death certificate, police report(accidents) and national ID. You may update your beneficiary from time to time through Pride branch.
9. How do I file a claim?
You do not need to file a claim. On receipt of an SMS confirming eligibility of the Pride Care medical insurance during a stated month. All you need is to have Pride Akiba and Smart personal savings account and national ID to be presented to the Pride Care network hospitals.
10. What happens if I close my Akiba Personal savings account?
Your insurance coverage will automatically terminate upon account closure. Claims for accidental permanent disability and death after this date will not be honored unless the event occurred while the cover was active.

The Pride Care Medical Insurance excludes;
a) Treatment for diseases not listed above (e.g., dental care, eye care, chronic diseases like diabetes or hypertension).
b) Cosmetic surgery or any treatment not medically necessary.
c) Pre-existing conditions that the member had before getting this insurance
d) Accidental Education Death benefit claims without death certificate or police letter(accidents) requirement
e) Accidental Permanent benefit claims without full recovery of the patient.

If a hospital bill is higher than the benefit limit, the customer must pay the difference themselves. This is called a "top-up" payment.
